Phosphoryl Monochloride, POCl
Phosphoryl Monochloride, POCl, an oxy-derivative of trivalent phosphorus, is reported as having been produced by the partial hydrolysis of phosphorus trichloride, the excess of which was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was a waxy mass with a pungent odour, and dissolved in water with great energy.
